If the words Bodyshakin’ instantly transport you back to the 1990s, Huddersfield has a date for the diary this Friday. 911 are bringing their 30th Anniversary Tour to Huddersfield Town Hall on Friday 18 September for an intimate evening celebrating three decades of one of Britain’s best-loved boybands.

Thirty years of 911 – right here in Huddersfield

Lee Brennan, Jimmy Constable and Simon “Spike” Dawbarn are taking the anniversary show around the UK through September, October and November, and Huddersfield is one of the extra dates added to the tour. The official Tony Denton Promotions tour schedule confirms Huddersfield Town Hall for Friday 18 September.

It is a much more up-close setting than the arena-sized nostalgia packages that have become familiar in recent years. The Huddersfield show is billed as “An Intimate Evening with 911”, with the trio revisiting the songs and stories from a career that produced ten consecutive UK Top 10 singles.

From The Hitman and Her to pop stardom

The 911 story began in the mid-1990s. Spike and Jimmy had been dancers on ITV’s The Hitman and Her, while Lee was working at a ten-pin bowling centre in Carlisle before a letter to local radio helped connect him with the pair’s management. From there came the school and under-18 club circuit, the television appearances, the dance routines and a run of hits that made the trio fixtures of 90s pop.

Expect the Huddersfield crowd to know the words. The anniversary tour is built around favourites including Bodyshakin’, Party People and More Than A Woman, while A Little Bit More gave the group a UK number one.

Meet & Greet available

The official promoter also lists Meet & Greet packages for the tour. These include a seat in the first two rows, access to the soundcheck and Q&A, a photo opportunity, signed photo and a 30th Anniversary lanyard. Huddersfield Town Hall’s event listing confirms the show for Friday 18 September, with the performance at 7.30pm.

Why this one caught Monkey’s eye

Monkey GigsList is usually happiest pointing you towards the pubs, clubs and grassroots stages keeping West Yorkshire live music moving every week. But there is something rather brilliant about a band whose records filled bedrooms and school discos three decades ago turning up for an intimate Friday night show in the middle of Huddersfield.

And that is exactly what a healthy local music scene should look like: tomorrow’s bands cutting their teeth in small rooms, established local acts filling pubs and clubs, and touring names still choosing Huddersfield as a place worth putting on the map.

911 – 30th Anniversary Tour: An Intimate Evening with 911. Friday 18 September 2026, Huddersfield Town Hall, Corporation Street, Huddersfield. Show time: 7.30pm. Tickets and Meet & Greet options are available through the Kirklees Town Halls box office.
