Bananarama are bringing the 80s party to The Piece Hall in 2027
Bananarama are bringing their greatest hits to Halifax next summer, with The Piece Hall confirmed as the final date of their newly announced Too Hot To Handle Greatest Hits Summer Tour.
The pop favourites will play the historic Halifax courtyard on Sunday 18 July 2027, with Tony Hadley and Altered Images joining them for a night built for anyone who still believes an outdoor summer gig should come with a huge chorus and a proper singalong.
A brand-new Piece Hall date for 2027
The Halifax show forms part of a six-date outdoor UK run announced today, 5 October. The tour opens at the Royal Hospital Chelsea in London on 11 June before visiting Lincoln Castle, Llangollen Pavilion, Cardiff Castle and Scarborough Open Air Theatre, finishing at The Piece Hall on 18 July.
For West Yorkshire music fans, that makes this another big addition to a 2027 Piece Hall programme that is already taking shape. The venue has already confirmed shows including The Saw Doctors, James Morrison with Jack Savoretti, and Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators.
Four decades of hits
Sara Dallin and Keren Woodward have a back catalogue tailor-made for a summer crowd: Cruel Summer, Venus, Love In The First Degree, Robert De Niro's Waiting, I Heard A Rumour and plenty more.
The announcement follows the 40th anniversary of True Confessions, while the duo's 2024 Glorious: The Ultimate Collection celebrated more than four decades of Bananarama.
Tony Hadley and Altered Images join the Halifax bill
The Piece Hall date gets an especially strong 80s line-up, with former Spandau Ballet frontman Tony Hadley and Altered Images appearing as special guests. It should make 18 July one of those dates where the support bill is a substantial part of the attraction rather than something to arrive halfway through.
When do tickets go on sale?
Tickets for the Too Hot To Handle Greatest Hits Summer Tour go on sale at 10am on Friday 9 October 2026.
With The Piece Hall having reported a record-breaking 225,000 tickets sold across 42 headline shows in 2026, the Halifax summer season has become one of the biggest live-music draws in our part of Yorkshire. Bananarama, Tony Hadley and Altered Images feels very much in keeping with that trajectory.
Monkey verdict: three major names, a July Sunday night and The Piece Hall courtyard. If the weather plays nicely, this has all the ingredients of a massive West Yorkshire summer singalong.
