Midweek Soul Returns to Golcar: Weavers Shed Keeps the Dancefloor Moving

There’s no rule saying live music has to wait until Friday night — and one of Monkey GigsList’s own Supporter venues is proving the point this week.

Soul on Wednesday returns to The Weavers Shed in Golcar on Wednesday 23 September, bringing another afternoon session of soul, socialising and dancing to Knowl Road.

A midweek session that’s finding its crowd

The event listing from HX Soul Crew says the previous three Wednesday afternoons at the venue have been very well attended. This week’s session is advertised from 2pm until 7pm, giving local soul fans a proper daytime alternative to the usual late-night gig calendar.

The Weavers Shed is at Knowl Road, Golcar, Huddersfield, HD7 4AN, with seating and on-site parking noted by the organisers.

The Weavers Shed is a paying Monkey GigsList Supporter, and this is exactly the sort of grassroots event we want to shout about: a local venue opening its doors, people getting together and music giving everyone a reason to get out of the house in the middle of the week.

Supporting local venues doesn’t always mean buying a ticket for a huge Saturday-night show. Sometimes it means popping in on a Wednesday afternoon, having a drink, meeting people and helping a regular event build a following.
