Britney Spears has been quoted as saying she is "on cloud nine right now", in what appears to be a response to a judge suspending her father, Jamie Spears, as her conservator in a move that some would say is long overdue.
Britney posted a video of herself having a flying lesson, shortly after news that her dad's role was suspended.
Her lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, said it was his "hope and expectation" the conservatorship would be fully terminated at a hearing on 12 November - with many saying that the suspension opens up a legal option for Britney to bring a case against her father.
Megastars Cher and Dionne Warwick were among those welcoming the judge's decision.
"This will be the start of a new life Brit," wrote Cher on Twitter and Dionne uploaded a video in which she expressed her "full support".
"My heart goes out to Britney Spears," said the music legend. "I feel her pain. How in the world could anyone endure what she has been enduring?"
LaToya Jackson also added: "A huge congratulations to Britney Spears!!!"
